Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Today let us meditate about the way of God to receive the real blessings of God in life. We see here in Gen 9:20 to 26, even among the members of one family one child can get the curses and another can get the blessings of God.  Blessings are coming from God and He gives us our earthly father and mother who have born us physically in this world. And we cannot choose our own parents in the same way we cannot chose our own spiritual parents who pray and lead us in the ways of righteousness with a concern.

Usually the parents love the child right from the day the child was born without any thing on its body into this world. They cloth the child and cover it with their love and care that is why it could grow. But many times the child after growing up forget the love of the parents who have covered his or her nakedness and cleaned her up whenever he or she could not had the power and knowledge to clean and take care of them.

I will not say that it is right for Noah who was called by God as a righteous person to drink and lie down with out proper cloth. Remember this fact; all human beings on this earth can commit some mistakes in life. But as a father although committed some mistakes by drinking fermented wine, he had some expectations from his children that is a covering attitude.  The bible also says the love cover multitude of sins.

There two types of people we will see in life.  One will try to cover their loved ones sins and the another will try to publicize the fault of their dear ones out side the house among the brothers so that they will lose their respect.  What Canaan saw inside the house he should have quietly covered it by doing the right thing there itself, so nobody would have known any thing.  He has forgotten about his own father who would have also covered Canaan’s nakedness so many times and dressed him up right from his birth.

Canaan committed two types of mistakes here to earn the curses of his father. First of all, it was not wrong that he saw the nakedness of his father but he failed to cover the nakedness of His father that earned his curses.  Secondly, he saw that when there was no one, not even Noah’s wife.  If he would have covered it quietly nothing would have happened but he went out of the house and publicized it among his own brothers to degrade the respect of his own father, that he may lose his respect among his own family members that earned him the curses.

God is a God of mercy and grace. When we do some thing without knowing God and his principles, He gives us chance to repent but when we harden our hearts and raise our voice without any gratitude against our own father and family and try to degrade the head of the family among his own children, God allows us to go through these type of curses.  Jesus is the way, the truth and life.  And He forgives us and turns all the curses whatever we earned but we should ask God to forgive us and repent truly.  We cannot have a stubborn unforgiving heart; we must forgive one another and cover each other with love.

May the lord help us today to come out of all curses we have earned until now.  Amen.
